Commission a one-off kitchen knife made by Rich at Patterson Forge in Minnesota. You choose the shape, size and handle, and we work out the steel and finish together.

How it works

1. Contact us with what you have in mind: shape, length, how you cook, handle ideas.
2. Rich sends you a quote for the design, materials and price.
3. No upfront deposit is normally required. A deposit is only requested when an extravagant handle material has to be bought for your build.
4. Rich forges and finishes the knife. Typical lead time for mosaic Damascus work is 3–4 months.
5. Shipping and final payment terms are agreed with you for each order.
